The Jean Monnet European Union Center of Excellence (JMEUCE) offers its congratulations to Clara Jeon for earning an internship with the European Parliament Office in Washington D.C. Clara is a history major with a European Studies certificate. She enjoys studying the history and politics of the European Union. Last summer Clara went to Brussels on a Jean Monnet funded European Union study tour. On the study tour she visited all of the EU institutions such as the European Parliament, Commission, and Council as well as think tanks, diplomatic missions, and NATO. In December 2016, the JMEUCE brought in Christopher Coakley, a liaison officer with the European Parliament Office, to talk about internship opportunities. Internships with the European Parliament Office afford students the opportunity to work on legislative issue important to both US and EU lawmakers such as counterterrorism, human rights, finance, and trade. We are proud to see students taking full advantage of the opportunities offered through our center. Congrats Clara!
