On Saturday, October 13th UW-Madison hosted a conference titled “Tracing the Impacts and Representations of 1968.” This is the year of global commemorations of the 50th anniversary of 1968. For many it marks an occasion to look back at the events and participants associated with what is widely viewed as a political and social rupture after the devastation of the Second World War. During this event, presentations were given from a number of renowned scholars from across the United States and Europe. Students, staff, and the general public were all welcome to attend this conference to learn more about this exciting time period and the lasting impacts that the events of this era have had on the world.
This conference was supported by a number of departments on campus and could not have been accomplished without the support of the UW-Madison community. We look forward to continuing to host exciting events such as this one in the future.
