34th German Day, “Stadt, Land, Zukunft”

Union South
@ 8:30 am - 2:00 pm

Co-Sponsored by the Center for European Studies.

The UW–Madison German Program is excited to host the 34th annual German Day on Monday, April 20, 2026! This outreach event invites Wisconsin middle and high school German students to campus for a day of language, culture, and fun. This year’s theme, “Stadt, Land, Zukunft”, will frame a variety of friendly competitions conducted in German, including spelling, Pictionary, charades, poetry, music performance, and skits. German Day offers students a chance to use their language skills in a lively, supportive environment while connecting with peers and educators from across the state.

There is no fee for schools to attend. Schools are responsible for their own transportation. Lunch is included for up to two teachers per school; students may bring a lunch or purchase food at Union South. To participate, please complete the Google registration form by Monday, April 6: https://tinyurl.com/GermanDay2026

Please note that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is required and must be submitted by Friday, April 10.

Whether you’ve been joining us for years or are considering German Day for the first time, we would love to welcome you to Madison!
