Tristan Vigliano, “How to Study Humanism and the Representation of Islam? A Dispatch from the Fronts of Today’s French ‘Culture Wars'”

Prof. Vigliano (University Aix-Marseille) is widely known for his scholarship on early modern humanism and the cultural exchanges between Western Europe and the Islamic world in early modernity. He has also published a groundbreaking book on the wake of the 2015 terrorist attacks in France titled L’ Islam e(s)t ma culture [Islam is/and my Culture]. Prof. Vigliano is currently finishing a book on humanism and intercultural relations in our divided times.
Please note that masks are required and that there will be no traditional wine and cheese after the conference. But there will be a lot of food for thought.
